March 2017 has been such a busy month, I have been at college for the whole month without a half term and I am building up for my exams in May so everything has been quite hectic work wise. However despite this, I have been able to fit a lot of other (and nicer) things into my month as well. I really like March, the weather has been nice and it finally is starting to feel like spring which I love! When I write this it is currently 17 degrees outside, the warmest it’s been since last summer I think.
The first thing to happen this month was my anniversary, but it’s not a typical anniversary that we celebrate! Instead the 3rd of March is the day that I moved in with my grandparents, and we always do something small to celebrate. March 2017 marks 6 years living here as I moved in 2011, and I think it’s a really nice thing to signify and a special day for our family.
One of the weekends of this month was taken up with some family friends coming to stay with us and having a very social weekend with them. If you have read my blog for a while you will know that they come to see us a few times a year, and them coming are some of my favourite weekends of the entire year. This trip was no exception, and it was so nice to relax and have a couple of days filled with laughter and creating memories. I love how well we all get along despite the age difference, it proves that friendship shouldn’t be dictated by age in the slightest.
I take business and economics at sixth form, so I had the opportunity to go to the BASE competition this month. This is a economics based competition for colleges across the country, so I had a day out of sixth form to go to the regional heats in Hull. I was really nervous because I was placed in a group with some people who aren’t in my class so I didn’t know them before the day, although it actually worked out really well and I made some good friends. I’m typically the person that likes my comfort zone, so it was hard but rewarding to step out of it for the day. I even stood up on a stage and presented our ideas to a whole hall of people, which is something I would have never have done in the past. Overall a good day, and something that really pushed me both academically and socially.
In April 2017 I had trial exams for my AS levels and although I found them really difficult an it caused hundreds of tiny breakdowns and self doubting, I ended up getting the grades I wanted (4 A’s). I worked really hard and pushed myself, and I’m so glad I did because it’s the nicest feeling putting in hard work and it being rewarded! The weekend after I got my results we went for a shopping day in Newcastle and then went to my favourite restaurant as a little treat for doing well.
I have been getting my camera out more in April 2017, I think it’s because spring is here and therefore I tend to get lots of inspiration for photography (especially nature). I have neglected my camera over the winter months and I’m so excited to get out in the summer and get some lovely photos, that’s one of my favourite things about summer. The nights are getting lighter now with the clocks going forward, which means it’s a lot easier for me to do makeup photography at anytime of day, so I hope to create some more makeup posts soon as well. I also need to get over the fear of uploading my first makeup ‘tutorial’ (a sped up version of me doing artistic makeup) on my blog, as I have wanted to do it for ages but I’m incredibly nervous about people’s opinions.
Next month is going to be pretty exciting, I have the majority of it away from college for the Easter holidays so I hope to get a lot of blogging done and upload a lot more frequently onto this page. Also I might be meeting Jeffree star which I am SO excited about, although that is not 100% confirmed yet.
