I feel like I say this every month but I cannot believe how quickly we are getting through the year, it certainly doesn’t feel like a month ago since I was last writing this post. I think this month has gone particularly quickly because I have been away from college for the majority of it, as it has been my Easter holidays for two weeks. It was nice to have a bit of time away from sixth form and be social, without having to worry too much about studies.
The month was off to a great start as we had about a weeks worth of lovely sunny days, and it finally felt like summer was coming (since then it has gone back to freezing cold and hailing, in typical British style). One Sunday it was 20 degrees and glorious sunshine so we went for a walk along the beach to take some photos, it was so nice to finally wear a strappy top and sandals and not be too cold! I wish it was that weather every day, I love hot summer days.
If you read my blog regularly you will know that this month I uploaded my first video to this website (red smokey eye), which I have been putting off for so long. I have wanted to record my makeup since I started my blog but have always been too scared about the reaction, however now I have done one I have become addicted and keep thinking of ideas for others! I am really enjoying the process of recording and editing, and although I haven’t spoke on videos yet (thats the bit I am most scared of), I am easing myself in and will definitely continue pushing myself. I have an idea of recording cinematic style clips of my month and inserting them into these hello posts, but I’m not sure if people would like it… please let me know! I am looking forward to merging my writing with more visual styles as well in the future . I am always envious of people who have long acrylic nails as I think they look so pretty, but I have been putting it off for ages as I thought they would be so impractical when doing day to day tasks. However in the holidays I thought to treat myself to some holographic claws, and I have fallen completely in love with them… so much so I’m scared that I will never go back and instead destroy my natural nails. They are longer than what I am used to but I asked for them to not be ridiculously long, and I haven’t found much that I can’t do with them. Putting on eyelashes was quite funny the first time I tried after getting them done but actually you get used to it and I don’t even notice that my nails are on now, they feel really natural. Potentially my favourite day of this month was having a boardgame night and an Easter hunt with my friends. Although I am lucky to spend a lot of time with my friends in college, it is always nice to make time for each other outside of education as well and this day was no exception to that. We all wore our pyjamas, and it was so chilled to just relax and not have to worry about anything, well apart from monopoly 😂 who says teenagers have to party all the time, I had just as much fun playing boardgames! After that, me and isy went on an Easter egg hunt. It’s a bit of a tradition to do it every year now, and I’m starting to get scared that we will still be doing it when we are 40! I don’t see Isy half as much as what we were used to (at school we were pretty much joined at the hip) but it makes the times where we are together so so much better now. Drinking hot chocolate in the car, toasting marshmallows in my pyjamas with her family and going to a random park on the way home was not the conventional evening by any means but so much fun, and me and Isy have both said it created memories that we will remember and laugh about for a long time.
Towards the end of the month, we went to meet Jeffree star and Manny MUA in Manchester and had a couple of days away in the process. I have created a few posts sharing photos and going into more detail about this so I’m not going to talk about it too much for the sake of repeating myself, but I did have a great few days. I have decided that cities are my favourite ‘type’ of place, and I love having chance to explore them. My next post will be about the meetup and a haul as promised, as I really want to share about what the actual day was like.
