A pop of colour

A couple of weeks ago I went to a party with some of my friends and I wore this makeup look. That night I started my makeup without a plan but I fancied adding a pop of colour and it turned into this. I am very much a neutral (but smokey) girl, so it is nice to branch out and add a pop of colour onto my lid but without being too bold. I think the colour really makes my eyes stand out, especially considering I paired it with a warm red tone (green and red are complimentary colours). I loved it so much for the party that I decided to recreate it and make a post, as I think I will be wearing this look a lot in the future.

The photo I uploaded to Instagram

The entire eye makeup is created using only one palette… the Kat Von D metal matte. I treated myself to it back in February when I visited London and since then it tends to be the palette that I reach for. It has every colour needed and a great variety of shimmers and mattes. For this look I used ‘oak, suede and velvet’ for the crease colours, then I packed a mixture of ‘moss and velour’ over the lid. For the shimmer I used ‘watt and ignite’. Overall it is an absolutely incredible palette and even though the price tag is high it is definitely worth getting your hands on. The only thing I would note is that the shimmer shades do have a fair bit of fallout, so I would recommend using fix+ or doing eyes first then foundation.

How perfect are the shades in this palette though 😍

This is how I created this look…

Now for the breakdown of the other products…

  • Collection lasting perfection concealer
  • Kat Von D shade and light palette

I have really enjoyed creating these video posts recently, I think it is just letting me dip my toe into the world of YouTube and video creating without actually taking the big step and launching my channel completely. My channel is certainly coming, I just need to up my confidence a little first and I think that my blog is really helping with that! I think my next video on here will be a back to school natural look, as it is not something I do very often and it will make a nice change from my really heavy makeup that is usually featured on my blog.
As always, if you recreate this makeup look or are inspired by it please send me a photo and let me know! I love seeing them and they always make my day 💜

I’m loving hooped earrings at the moment! ☺️
