Autumn

Today is the 22nd, which means it is officially the start of autumn… and I couldn’t be more excited. Autumn is my favourite season by far and I am already starting to feel autumnal because there are so many things that are beginning to happen. The last 4 months of the year are by far the best, and although I am at college for the majority of it I am still so excited. Today I thought to share my 10 favourite things about autumn, so even if you aren’t excited now I’m sure you will be after this.

So in no particular order….

Crisp days

I love going out for days out when it is crisp, freezing cold but no wind or rain in sight. You can get wrapped up and feel the air biting your face but everywhere else is warm, and it really makes you feel festive. Christmas shopping on a crisp day is one of my favourite things to do.

Cosy nights in

Is there anything better about coming home from the cold and getting your pyjamas on? Being wrapped up under duvets and blankets watching TV is one of the nicest feelings, particularly if it involves watching reality TV. Nobody can deny that autumn is the season of reality TV, I can’t think of anyone that doesn’t love I’m a celebrity and other family shows when the nights begin to draw in.

Fairy lights and candles

To be fair I do this for the majority of the year, however it is more of an ‘autumn’ tradition. They just add to the cosiness, and I love coming home on a dark evening and lighting all the candles/turning on all the little lights. It creates such a nice atmosphere and makes everything so comfy and warming. Plus they look great too!

Autumn fashion

Autumn fashion was pretty much made for me. It’s filled with blacks and dark colours, big coats, scarves, thick cardigans, tights and boots…. and that’s just to name a few things that I love about fashion at this time of year. I love being able to wrap up warm and autumn is definitely the time of year where I feel the most confident in myself and my style.

Makeup

This lead on very well from the fashion point, but makeup in the winter months seems to be so much better. Warm tones, smokey eyes and darker lipsticks means that everything seems to become more grunge style and that is the type of makeup that I love. This year I have bought the naked heat palette and I love it, so I presume a lot of my ‘autumn’ looks will come from that as it’s such a good palette for this time of year.

Hot chocolates

I know you can drink hot chocolate at any time of year but it tastes so much better in the colder months. It’s so warming in the bad weather and really adds to the cosiness of days at home. In addition to this, autumn is the time that the main coffee shops launch their seasonal drinks, which is the best thing for coffee shop lovers like me. So many new and gorgeous drinks to try, and I can’t wait to see what they bring out this year. Last years favourite from me was the ‘Lindt hot chocolate’ from Costa, I really hope they launch that again this year.

Sparklers

Although I’m not a huge fan of firework displays/bonfire night, I love that in autumn there are times where everyone wraps up warm and goes outside in the dark to celebrate. This year I am determined to get a sparkler photo because I have wanted to take one for years and have never got around to it, so this point isn’t really something I love about autumn but more something that I want to achieve this season.

Beautiful photos

This is the time where the leaves being to change colour, which creates some beautiful and very photogenic scenes around. Nature is gorgeous and so nice to take photos of, and I always feel more motivated to take photos in autumn because it is just so pretty. I wish nature was always vibrant colours of reds and yellows, personally I think they look so much more breathtaking.

Halloween

The 31st is actually my nans birthday, so I don’t tend to celebrate Halloween properly because I am spending time with her and my family. However this year I am very excited about Halloween makeup and different styles of looks that I can create for my Instagram. I have so many ideas planned and I can’t wait to share some of them with you. In case you don’t follow my Instagram please click here to check out my account. The algorithm is really effecting my account at the moment (annoyingly but so many people are suffering) so I would really appreciate it if you take a moment to look at my page.

Christmas is approaching

Autumn means that the end of the year is approaching, and Christmas is the most magical time of year. I can’t wait to be festive this year again, decorating the whole house and opening my first day of my advent calendar makes me feel so excited even now. I have also decided that I am doing ‘blogmas’ this year (where bloggers post everyday in December) so you will get 31 posts from me throughout the month. I’m nervous because I’m not sure whether I will be able to keep up with that alongside my A level work but I am determined to at least try! It will certainly get me in the Christmas spirit if nothing else!

So that is my list of 10 things that I am excited about in the coming months. I hope this has made you excited for autumn if you aren’t already. I am so excited for the last few months of the year, it always seems to be the happiest time of the year and I hope this year is the same. As always thank you so much for reading this, I really appreciate all the support I get on my blog posts ❤
