I wasn’t going to write this originally however I had so many photos from the day, so I wanted to have this extra post to share with everyone. On Sunday 15th October, I hosted an event in collaboration with The Body Shop in York. The post of the whole event itself and my video of the evening will be going up in a couple of days but before that I wanted to share the day running up to the event, because it was one of my favourite days in a long time and I want to be able to look back on it.
My best friend slept over at my house the night before, and we woke up early on the day as we wanted to spend a long time getting ready. I opted for my blue eye makeup, as I think it looks really pretty and always makes me feel confident.
We left the house at about 10am after getting ready and went to the train station. It is around an hour to York from my house so we got the train, just so that is was quicker and easier. We got snacks and coffee on the way and it was actually a really chilled train journey, which was nice (also filled with a fair bit of laughter). We arrived at York just before lunchtime and we were in the centre by about 12:15, so we had the entire afternoon to relax… the calm before the storm.
We spent the majority of the afternoon walking around York, doing a spot of shopping and taking photos. There was actually a mini heatwave this weekend so it was lovely to just wander around and not feel freezing cold like the usual October weather. I was so happy with everything looking so autumnal but being so warm, the weather was so perfect. Autumn is definitely my favourite time of year!
We had a treat fast food lunch (theres nothing much better than a sneaky mcdonalds really) and then just before the event we went to The Botanist. If you have been following me for a while you will know that back in June I went here for a cocktail tasting bloggers event and I really enjoyed it so I thought to go back for pre drinks. I love the Botanist, it is such a nice environment and really chilled… there was even live music playing! It is quite expensive for cocktails but if I had the choice I wish I could stay there all afternoon and just watch the world go by. I had the cocktail that I have always have, which is a raspberry flavour and it is served in a plant pot filled with crushed ice. It was the first time Emily has been there, and she got the pimms teacup (another one of my favourites) and loved it… which made me very happy!
We then made our way to the event and met all the staff before the guests arrived, although I am going to leave this post here. Overall it was such an amazing day and one that I will remember for a long time, and I haven’t even written about the most exciting part yet. Part 2 of the entire event and photos will be live in the next day or so, including my first youtube video with clips from the entire event. Im very excited for you to see it, its probably one of my favourite posts to date.
