Christmas at The Body Shop

Last week I was invited to The Body Shop York for their Christmas event, in order to showcase the new Christmas range. This year they have launched three scents, frosted berries, frosted plum and vanilla chai. My personal favourite is the frosted berries, as I really like how fresh it is yet still feels festive. I definitely want to pick up some of the gift sets when I get chance!

I was at college during the day so as soon as I finished lessons at 3 I went to the train station. I had a plus one for the event, so I brought my best friend Emily with me. We had plenty of time so we decided to go out for pizza before the event, and then made our way to the store for 6pm.

The event was held where I had my event a couple of months ago, and it was really nice to go back and experience the event through a guests eyes. As much as my event was perfect in every way, it was nice to not be the centre of attention and actually get to do all of the activities on offer. All of the staff members working that night were exactly the same as my event, so it was nice to see them all again.

When we went in we had a bit of time to ourselves, where we could walk around and take as many photos as we liked. They had all of the Christmas gift sets out and I really liked seeing what they had on offer this year. I love that every product is themed around toys (and the hashtag is #playforpeace). My personal favourite is the lip balm set, with 4 little cubes that move around and connect to each other… I can’t explain it but you need to try playing with it if you go into the store!

The Body Shop advent calendars are gorgeous 😍

It was so nice to see some of the bloggers that I know as it is always one of my favourite parts about events. I was speaking to Leanne (lecosanne) for a lot of the night, which is always lovely as I love that girl a hell of a lot. It was also lovely to see Louise (louiseroserailton) as I haven’t seen her in so long.

The tea tree range is really helping my skin at the moment!

I chose the frosted berries scent, as it is definitely my favourite of the 3 Christmas scents. First she used a hand scrub and then, after washing that off, massaged my hands with the matching hand cream. My hand felt so soft and I really enjoyed the whole experience.

There were lots of drinks and nibbles on the counter for everyone to try, which was so nice of the staff to provide them. I had a Buck’s Fizz which was really nice although I didn’t have many of the snacks as I had already been out for dinner. The lovely employees had also brought us some hot chocolate samples from Costa to try. If you know me you know that Costa Christmas drinks are the key to my heart, so I got very excited about this!

The event was being held on the same day as the Christmas lights in York were being turned on for the first time. During the event we got to go outside and see all of the pretty lights. I love the tree as it was all fairy lights that changes colour and not an ‘actual’ Christmas tree. There was also a street performer in the square near the Christmas tree, who was doing magic tricks with a glass ball… I still don’t know how he did it!

I bought a new foundation and I can’t wait to try it out as I have heard a lot of good reviews. We left the event around half 7 and made our way back to the train station. We had a few eventful incidents on the way but we were on time and even had the opportunity get a coffee at the station. We were back at home by about 10pm, so it wasn’t too much of a late night. Overall I had a really nice evening and I absolutely love the Body Shop events, thank you to the lovely team for inviting me. I’m such a lucky girl for all of the brand opportunities I have been receiving recently.
