I have never been to an origins event before so I was so excited when me and my nan were invited to their York blogger Christmas evening last week. It was hosted by the lovely Laura from Lauraknowslife who is actually a social ambassador for origins. I haven’t tried much from the brand but after that evening, I definitely will try so many more of their products!

The evening was based on their ginger range, which is actually a limited edition product for the festive season. I love the smell and usually I don’t really like ginger, but actually it doesn’t smell too strong and instead reminds me of cola bottles! I think it’s just because it has a sweet tone to it and I really like that. We were kindly gifted some goody bags at the end of the evening, so I’m excited to try some of the range soon.

When we walked in we were greeted with drinks and nibbles, which were really nice. We started talking to other guests whilst everyone else was arriving. The York origins store is actually one of the only ones in the UK with the other one being in Cambridge, I hope they open more soon. There were probably about 15 people there at this event, and after an introduction talk from the lovely Laura the activities begun.

I absolutely love the origins store at York, the decor is so lovely and welcoming. I adore the tropical wallpaper and disco balls! If you get chance then go upstairs in the shop and see the relaxation area, it actually does feel calming and so much like home. You can book in to have a facial in the upstairs area, and this is something that I am definitely going to consider having in the new year. Laura was talking to me about it and she would 100% recommended it, so it’s worth considering if you are in the York area.

The shop is quite small and busy with bloggers, but despite this we got the chance to look at everything we wanted to and have a good browse of all of the products. I treated myself to a face mask (problem skin) as I have heard such good things about the origins masks, but I haven’t properly tried it yet. I hope I like it! My skin has been breaking out so much recently so I’m hoping this mask will calm it down a little before Christmas.

Hand massages were being offered by the lovely team at origins, which I couldn’t decline as I love having a massage. We got a choice of which products we wanted to be used, I chose the oil because I love the feeling as opposed to a sticky lotion. They were so thorough and really took their time, and I loved it. It was really nice talking to the girls at the event, particularly the employees at origins who were lovey.

The whole session was so much fun and I really enjoyed the evening and testing some new products. Thank you to the lovely team at origins and Laura for inviting me, I had such a nice time and I hope to return to an origins event soon.
