I can’t believe it is New Years Eve already and the last day of this year, it has flown so quickly and I cannot believe that tomorrow is a new year and a new 365 days. I have pre written this post because tonight I am actually spending the evening seeing in the new year with my family and boyfriend, and I can’t wait. It has been a big year and 2018 is set to be even bigger, so I thought to sit down and have a little chat about the coming year as my last post of 2017. All of the photos in this post are some of my 2017 favourites, that didn’t quite make the top 10 days which was yesterdays post.
2018 will be the year that I finish formal education and leave my sixth form. I have decided that I want to go onto further education, so I will be starting university this year in around September. This is 100% going to be the biggest life change that I have had so far, and I am quite nervous about it. Moving away to a new city on my own is a scary concept but equally I am looking forward to starting afresh and meeting new people, whilst studying what I love. I’m quite the Homebird so its going to be daunting living away from home for the first time.
In the next few months I am hoping to pass my driving test, which will be the best feeling. I live in quite a rural area so it will be amazing to have some independence, even just to go to college on my own. I have really been struggling to drive but my confidence is slowly but surely improving and I finally feel like I am getting better. Its so much harder than I thought it was going to be though, and I have discovered that I am such a nervous driver! Hopefully 2018 will be the year where I build my confidence and get to explore more in my little car.
I am also looking forward to a long summer once I have finished my A levels. My 18th birthday is in the summer and I hope to have a party with my family and friends, and maybe go on a little weekend away with my boyfriend too. I can’t believe ill be 18 this year, it doesn’t feel like 5 minutes ago since I was planning my 12th birthday party so its crazy to think I’m actually an adult in 6 months. Im excited to have a summer without any schoolwork though and really spending some time with my friends before we all move away.
If you read my blog a lot you will know how much I love a weekend away and Im hoping to travel a little more in 2018 to see even more places and cities. I travelled to a lot of different places in 2017 and really enjoyed seeing more of the UK, so I want that to continue this into the new year. I already have a few trips planned over the next few months and I can’t wait to take photos and share them with you.
That leads me on perfectly to where this blog is going to go. Obviously I am going to continue writing into the new year as a document of my life and my 2018. Its my passion, my hobby and something that I love doing so I can’t wait to share new ideas, and make my blog more professional than ever. In addition to this, I really want to work on my youtube channel, as I started it in 2017 but I have barely posted and I want to put more effort into setting that up. I just need to get over the nerves first! This is also the year that I sit my A levels, so expect to see even more studying and organisation content. My plan is to also ‘daily blog’ when I move to university, sharing my thoughts everyday as I move, unpack and spend my first few days in a new place.
As far as personal new years resolutions go, I don’t think I have any specific ones this year. My main goal is to stay as happy as I am right now and just continue that into 2018. Focus on myself and really work hard at my A levels so that I achieve what I want to, whilst still keeping myself relatively sane and spending time with family and friends. I am really excited and ready for 2018.
So this is the last post of 2017 and the last post of blogmas. I can’t actually believe that I have done it, 31 posts for 31 days. It was so much harder than I first anticipated but I am glad that I did it, and I have loved being able to share one of my favourite months of the year with my audience. As this is the last post of this year I just want to thank you. Whether this is the first post of mine that you have read or you have read every single post of 2017, thank you. A lot of the opportunities and the best memories that I have had this year couldn’t have happened without you reading this and I am so thankful. I can’t wait to carry this on into 2018 and hopefully build an even bigger community on this platform.
