The blogger made me do it

I have seen these type of videos floating around youtube so I thought to do a blog version. Through social media and following a lot of bloggers, it is easy to see what products people have been buying and loving. I do think that it sways your opinion and encourages you to buy certain products if a lot of your feed is taken up by people raving about them. Posts like this should be proof to brands that PR marketing and targeting bloggers really does work, as I definitely listen to their opinions!

The first and probably biggest trend on social media is the new Revolution concealer, so I obviously had to jump on the hype. I have the shade C9, which at first I thought was a bit dark but it doesn’t oxidise so it actually turned out to be the perfect shade for me. I love it, it has such good coverage and a very good dupe to the tarte shape tape. Plus it’s a drugstore brand so it’s so cheap too so it’s definitely worth trying. The only thing that I would note is that it runs out so quickly, it’s insane how quickly a product can run out when the tube looks pretty big! It’s so cheap but in comparison probably not the best value for money, because it only lasted me about 3 weeks. Overall I really like it and I think that revolution are really upping their game at the moment, I definitely think that I’m going to do a brand insight next month about all of the products that I have tried.

The next prodigy that has been recommended to me by the blogging community is the new ‘bad gal bang’ mascara by Benefit. Benefit work really closely with bloggers so there were a lot of press releases of this mascara going round, they even sent a group of high powered influencers to the Maldives… what an absolute dream. The overall social media opinion of this is that you either love it or hate it, so I really wanted to try it and see what I thought of it. I vividly remember @nikkietutorials saying that the mascara is a ‘lower lashes wet dream’, which not only made me laugh but its something I completely agree with. I overall really do like this mascara and I would reccommend it, but I do believe that benefit had a lash wearer in mind when they formulated this as opposed to the more natural gal. When you wear lashes, the top lashes dont really matter but its all about the lowers, and this mascara is incredible for that. Don’t get me wrong its good for the top and I do wear it a lot, but its strength has to be the lowers because it can make the top look a bit clumpy if you layer it up too much.

Im a bit late to the party with the next product, but it is the urban decay naked heat palette. This launched last summer and since then they have launched the mini version as a part 2 due to it being so popular. The colours in this are gorgeous, and I have really been enjoying a warm toned eye makeup so this is definitely a good go to palette for during the day at college. I haven’t worn every shade in this but my favourites are low blow, he devil and En Fuego. I do prefer the mattes to the shimmers so if you are a sparkly gal then I maybe wouldn’t purchase this, as mattes do dominate the palette and I think they are a lot better quality than the shimmers. The packaging is to die for too and I think it might be my favourite naked packaging that they have done, and I own every naked palette so it took a lot to pick a favourite! I would definitely recommend this if you are a warm toned fan, I have green eyes and its perfect to make them pop… certainly a good investment for the summer! This is actually the only palette that me and my friend are thinking of taking on holiday with us in July.

The body shop peel is a product that I have been loving recently, and it has really helped my skin and the overall texture. I bought this a few months ago by a recommendation, and I absolutely love it. I wish I could remember the specific blogger who recommended this to me, and if I do after this is posted I will definitely let you know on social media. I didn’t think that I would like it as it seemed quite harsh but I actually think thats the reason it has ended up being my skin saviour. After cleansing I pump some of this on my hand and massage it into my face, and you start to see you dead skin coming off in clumps. I KNOW. It literally falls off and sheds like a snake, leaving smooth and softer skin behind. Im not really sure of the science but I use it twice a week and I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin since I started using it, I have been getting a lot less spots and the overall texture of my skin has improved. However, I would note that if you have very sensitive skin this is not the product for you. I put a bit on my boyfriends hand and it irritated his skin, so maybe check this before you start rubbing it all over your face!

The final product is actually two products, as it is the combination of Maybelline driver liquid lipstick and rimmel cappuccino liner. This was recommended to me by the love of my life and the one and only, @jamiegenevieve. I bet you all follow her but if you don’t, you absolutely need to. Im pretty sure she could sell me anything, and this combination was no exception! She is the queen of big 90s style nude lips, so when she wore this combination and it was all from the drugstore I had to go and purchase it. The lipstick is matte but its not uncomfortable and wears down throughout the day to more of a stain which I really love. I like how peach toned this nude is, and its nothing that I have had in my collection before. I have the shade driver but there are so many, so if nude lips aren’t your thing then there will definitely be one that does suit you. Paired with the darker brown lipliner, it makes a fab combination and one that I have been wearing pretty much everyday. It has been my go to lip product for the past couple of weeks!

I really liked this post, so much so that I think I’m going to make a list from now on whenever a blogger recommends me something that I go onto purchase and then potentially make a part 2 of these soon! Hopefully this has given you my opinion on some of the most popular products recently, if you end up buying some of them please let me know what you think! Overall I have enjoyed all of the products that feature here and I would definitely recommend them to you.
