April has not been an exciting month, and with my A levels only being a month away now (just writing that makes me want to cry and lay down in a darkened room for a year) my entire life has been consumed with A levels, and when I say that I truly mean it. The other day I did 14 hours of revision in one day and it truly was painful. This is the reason why my blog has taken a back seat, but I can assure you that I will be back in true form with travel posts and also my 18th birthday content.
That being said, I am happy that I am devoting so much time to revision as it will be worth it in the end. I just can’t believe that two years worth of A levels is drawing to a close and in about 7 weeks I will never have to do any formal education again… a scary concept but an exciting one. Currently though, it feels like an uphill struggle, as soon as I tick one thing off my list another 3 seem to be added. 4 A levels was a good decision at the time and will be in the long run, but right now it does seem like a stupid move I made! I just have to keep reminding myself that it will be worth it in the end and I cannot wait for the best summer I have ever had. I have been documenting my whole experiences in a daily study stories on my Instagram, if you are wanting to hear more about what I’m getting up do.
One of my favourite days in April has to be Charlie’s party. I had been stuck inside doing revision for a good few days, so I desperately needed a break and this came at the perfect time. I got together with all of my friends and we had a party, and it just felt so good to let my hair down and dance with everyone! This is the last party I’m going to before my exams, so I certainly made the most of it. Didn’t feel so great the next morning though!
I mentioned it beforehand in this blog post, but in April I booked my birthday party venue. I am not going to go on about it too much because I’m sure you are going to hear A LOT more about it over the next few months but I truly cannot wait. I have so many celebrations planned and its going to be topped off with a giant party with all of my friends and family in one room, I get a little bit giddy thinking about it and its still well over a month away so I can’t imagine what I’m going to be like on the day!! I have so many ideas for blog posts, you are going to be bored of birthday content but I cannot wait to share it all with you.
We had a mini heatwave towards the end of April, and it was well needed. On the sunniest day, I put all of my textbooks down and went and sat on the college field with my friends. It was such a nice afternoon to relax and have a laugh, and it was so warm which was just the best. It reminded me of them days when you were at primary school and rushed outside in the heat to go on the field and play. Basically the whole college were sat on the field, some in little groups and others getting together to play football. It was such a nice afternoon and its days like that I’m going to miss when I go to university and seeing my closest friends everyday.
Blogging events are strange, nothing comes up for months and then you are invited to go to two in the space of 24 hours… I’m not complaining though! The first was the origins event, and you have probably already seen my blog post about this but it was a really nice evening. I’ve only ever been to one origins event before, but this was as nice as the last and it was nice to see some people again! I got to take my best friend Emily, and we were both given hand massages which was lovely. I love going to beauty events!
Then the next night I was invited to review the circus, which has been in York for the past few weeks. When this email first landed in my inbox I wasn’t quite sure what to think, as reviewing performances isn’t really something that I have ever done but I thought it would be a cool experience anyway so I went along, and it was amazing! I haven’t been to a circus in years, but it was so fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed taking my family along to an event with me, as it is very rare that I can do that and its nice to be able to treat them. The blog post for both the events will be live in the next week or so, so if you are interested in learning more about them stay tuned.
My friend Becca turned 18 in April, so we ended the month with a nice meal and spending some time with my friends. It was a pretty casual affair but nice to see everyone, as recently I have been so consumed with A levels that I feel I barely have a minute to sit down and actually hold a conversation with my friends! At parties you can’t talk but not as well as when you are sat down having a meal, so it was great to catch up… plus the Indian food was pretty great!
So theres April! It hasn’t felt too busy which has been nice, but there has still been some really nice moments and it has been an overall good spring month. May is setting up to be pretty mundane at the moment, with the countdown to exam season looming its likely I will be hibernating at my desk for most of it!
