Hello September

August has been one busy month but I have absolutely loved cramming a lot into my time at home, as when you are reading this there is only 9 days until I move to university… which is incredibly scary! It has been so nice to have quality time with family and friends this month because I won’t be seeing them as much soon, so it was nice to make some fantastic memories to end the summer on. The sun has been shining for the majority of the month, which has been lovely and overall it has been such a happy time filled with many different days and opportunities. As you are reading this I’m currently having a few days away in Newcastle, but I’m sure that I will be updating you on that in the next few weeks with some travelling posts.

We started off the month with a brand new blog design, which you will be seeing if you are reading this! I have been wanting a new blog design for so long, so when I had a bit of time to spare I bought a new one and got it all installed. Don’t get me wrong I loved my old design too but I felt like my blog was growing out of it as I had it installed for 18 months and since I first started my blog. It was definitely time for a change! This one looks so much more professional and business like, which I absolutely love and will be perfect for the coming year when I will be expanding Indigo Rosee further. It is such a beautiful design and I’m so happy that this is actually my blog now, it looks so good! Please let me know what you think of the new design as I would love to hear your opinions.

One of my favourite times this month was setting aside a few days to have a proper couple of days spending time with John, and making some memories before we are both in two different cities and not seeing each other half as much as what I would like (LDR girls reading this… I need lots of tips!). We set aside a couple of days and didn’t really do anything, we had a drive to Beverly (a little town near us) for a walk about in the sunshine and then had a meal out at our favourite Italian. It wasn’t even about what we did but it was just lovely to not be on my laptop/phone much and just have a good time. Obviously the fun included cocktails and plenty of food as well! I would definitely recommend The potting shed in Beverly if you fancy a cocktail (or many), it is a very instagrammable vibe and although the cocktails were incredibly strong they were gorgeous.

Something that I am very happy to report this month is that I started up my driving lessons again. I am not a confident driver at all and I ended up quitting my previous lessons (because A levels and my health took priority) but now that I have had a lot my time in August I have been able to get back in the car again. I am not a good driver by any means and I have a long way to go but for now I’m happy to face my fears again and I do think I am coming along quite well, hopefully I will be able to pass by the time 2018 ends!

If I thought driving was scary, results day morning was about 100x worse. I think that opening my A level results is probably the most scared that I have ever been for anything in my whole life, it was the fear of the unknown and knowing that the results were completely out of your hands once you had put the pen down in your last exam. There was nothing that could be done and I knew that but it still didn’t make opening them any easier and I still felt so sick in the build up to finding out. But I am pleased to report that I got into my first choice university (University of Leeds) and I ended up with A*A*AB… although the B is getting a remark and I hope that it will change! I can’t believe that I have actually done it and I’m never going to go back to my sixth form, its so weird having poured so much time into my A levels for them just to be done and be a grade on a piece of paper. Here’ to the next chapter of my life, based in Leeds!

One of my biggest targets that I wanted to achieve with my blog was to work alongside a management company and I am pleased to report that August was the month where I was signed to Sharp talent… which is incredibly exciting indeed! The lovely team will be working with me in the foreseeable future to improve my blog, help me work with more brands and in general have some more opportunities than what would be achievable on my own. Its early days right now but I can’t wait to see what the future holds being part of the Sharp family!

The final thing that happened this month was my best friend Emily’s birthday who FINALLY turned 18… she is the last one in the friendship group! She had a part with her friends and family to celebrate, and it was so nice to celebrate with her. It will be the last time that the whole friendship group will be together before university and it was such a good end to the summer, plus now everyone in the group is 18 so we can all go out together!

So that was my August… a huge month and such a good end to the summer! My highlight was definitely getting my results though as it was a long time coming and I’m glad that sixth form is all done now. Don’t get me wrong, I am excited for the concept of starting university but equally I am so nervous for September… it will definitely be the biggest month of changes in 2018 (and maybe my life) so far!
