Happy 2019! I can’t believe that today is the final post of blogmas and the 32nd post I have uploaded consecutively… I’m so proud I did it! Blogmas is always a lot of hard work (especially balancing it against my degree) but it is so worth it and I love how many people have been clicking on my page everyday. Have you read every post? Which one was your favourite?
So now onto December, which has been an incredibly busy month crammed with social events but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have really enjoyed being so busy and having so many plans, plus I came home halfway through the month so that has really turned my mood around. I’m now off uni for 6 weeks and although I have a lot of assignments due, I love that I am back at home with all of my friends and family.
At the beginning of the month I got to attend the Leeds by example, which was hosted by the fab charity hubbub. It was quite out of my comfort zone as it was all about sustainability (a topic I don’t know enough about) but it was so nice to learn about their campaigns and also small lifestyle changes that I can make to help the environment more in 2019. I hope to work more with hubbub in 2019 so please let me know if this is something you aren interested in, as I really want to start talking more about controversial and more important topics on my blog.
As it was the weekend before we all came home for Christmas, we decided to host ‘flatmas’ as a pre-christmas celebration at university before everyone split up to go all over the world (no joke) for Christmas. We decorated the table and kitchen all nice, everyone cooked something different and it was just a really nice evening. I don’t spend enough time with my boyfriends flat and I wish I could because they are all so lovely and welcoming, I have so much love for my Manchester family. Definitely something I would recommend organising if you are going to uni in September, as it was a great way for people to come together without alcohol and a night out involved!
Although talking of nights out, as soon as we got home it was time to host my annual Christmas house party (this year was the 3rd year running). I am not going to go on too much about it because I feel like I haven’t stopped writing about it, but all I am going to say is that it was such a fun night. It was definitely made even more memorable by the fact that I hadn’t seen my friends altogether since the summer. It felt like no time had passed and it started the Christmas holidays right! You will have only just seen my ‘Durham diaries’ posts because they were uploaded a few days ago (if not please go and check them out!) so again I won’t go on too much about this. Me and my boyfriend had absolutely no idea what to get each other for Christmas and we both love going away together, so it made sense to go on a little pre-christmas getaway as our present to each other. It was such a relaxing few days and just what we needed, and it also meant that I fell in love with durham. It doesn’t feel like a city at all and I would definitely recommend it if you are a York fan.
So now for the most important day of the year, Christmas Day! This year was fab like every other, and I spent the majority of the day eating or laid on the sofa (or both at the same time!). I was so grateful for all of my lovely gifts, everyone seemed to like the gifts I got them and I loved being able to spend the day with everyone that I love the most. The last thing that happened this month was celebrating Isy’s birthday, and I cannot believe that she is 19 already… its crazy! She is my longest best friend and we have been besties for nearly 6 years, so she deserves the best birthday. We had a meal at one of our favourite restaurants and then a night out with all of our friends and it was so nice. Happy birthday Isy!
So that was my December, pretty busy eh? I don’t know how I have managed to be so busy yet upload 32 times, and maintain my degree deadlines… its been crazy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. That being said, I can’t continue at this speed forever so I have decided to take a belated 10 day Christmas break from posting (after tomorrow, when I am uploading a full blogmas review with links to every post in case you missed any), so I will be back on the 11th with something SUPER EXCITING (trust me, you will not want to miss it). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me throughout blogmas and all of 2018, and heres to even more adventures in 2019. I hope it is the biggest and best one yet for Indigo Rosee!
