This is such an exciting post to be writing! I have always worked on my blog from my bedroom (more specifically my soft office, otherwise known as my bed) but as the blog has grown and Indigo Rosee Beauty has started, I have really needed more space. Since the lashes have started there are now hundreds of boxes of lashes in my room because I package up and send everything off myself, so storage space in the office was very important. So we all came to the conclusion that I needed to create a proper office, but not in the traditional ‘desk’ way but more of a studio space that I can continue to build Indigo Rosee in. Thats why I thought to do a whole office tour post whilst it still looks amazing, as you will be seeing this space a lot over the next few years I’m sure.
If you follow my blog for a while, you might be a bit confused as to where this office actually is considering I am currently at university an hour away from home. I completely get why you may be thinking that, because I have had a lot of people in my ‘real life’ also ask me! I haven’t really addressed this on my blog yet, but as of May I am actually moving back home (although more on that later) so my office is now in a spare room of my family home. For the next 5 months, I am still going to be managing the business from my home and my new office because I am home an awful lot anyway so can easily manage everything.
I really wanted an inspiring space, as before the room was mainly used for storage (of stuff I never even used) and I barely actually sat in there and used the space. I think that I definitely achieved my goal of creating an inspiring space and I now love it so much, and will use it all of the time. I can’t wait to sit on the sofa and write blog posts with all of the fairy lights on!
I wanted the main theme of the room to be very bright so that it was good for taking photos in, as it is so much easier to shoot in a very white room. I also added a lot of monochrome with the prints on the wall, and the handles on the new drawers because I think it looks so classy and timeless. I wanted to add a pop of colour somewhere in the room though, so I have added pops of green and orange mainly. Obviously there are bits of pink in there as well, because I don’t think I can have a room without pink somewhere!
So enough rambling and now onto the actual room tour:
Starting outside in the hallway, I thought I would show my neon sign because it actually hasn’t featured on a blog post yet even though it has been up for about 6 months ago. It was actually a very generous birthday present from my grandparents last year, and I think it is my favourite present I have ever received. I have had an obsession with neon signs for so long and I never thought I would receive a custom neon sign, I absolutely adore it. Even if Indigo Rosee doesn’t exist for the rest of my life I know that I will have this forever. In case you are interested, the sign is from Neon creations if you are looking for something similar anytime soon.
The biggest feature of this space is ALL THE STORAGE and I’m so happy about it, because although I am not using it all right now it means that it is built for when the business hopefully grows in the future. All of the drawers are from Ikea and they are specifically the ‘Hemnes’ collection, in case you are wanting something similar. I’m not going to show you inside every drawer, but this is where I keep all of the lashes, packaging and also all of stationary that I use regularly. I also love that despite having all of the storage space that I need, I also have a huge floorspace where I can work. I work on the floor 99% of the time (even though my back hates me for it) so I love that I have a huge space to just spread out and work. Note that if you ever order from Indigo Rosee Beauty, it will most likely have been packaged up by me sitting crossed legged on that floor. Not that you ever needed to know that, but still… now you do.
Everyone meet Barry the bamboo, which was a very spontaneous purchase in Ikea but I love him. I seem to have a new love of plants at the moments (I’m blaming this solely on my nan) but I love having some greenery in my room, I think it looks so nice. I have a fake hanging plant too because I think they look cool, but I cannot keep a real one alive… I am not very good at being a plant mother! I think that as time goes on I will be adding even more plants to the room and the obsession will be even more unhealthy. I will be working in a jungle before too long!
I had this ‘gallery wall’ up before but I decided to purchase some new prints and change up my wall so that it fit with the new theme. I really like having different prints up as it really shows the vibe of the room and ties everything together nicely. Before I start- this is NOT sponsored. I have seen so many bloggers talk about the brand Desenio and I just want to make it clear that I am not working with them in any way, I just wanted to purchase some of their prints with my own money because I have seen how amazing they are from other bloggers that I respect. Influencer marketing really does work! I stuck with the monochrome theme that I have had thoughout the room, with prints that I absolutely loved from their website. I also added this lips print, which is gold foiling but I still thinks it looks good. I was only intending on purchasing three but if you spent over a certain price you received £20 off so it was actually cheaper to buy 5 instead of 3. That means I got to add some on another wall in the room too, which I like.
There are a few prints that are not from Desenio, but are slightly more unique and harder to get your hands on!
Dublin- I bought this as a souvenir from one of my trips to Dublin last year. Its my favourite place in the world and I love having a little nod to the best city on my wall.
Girls just wanna have fun- I got this as a gift from my grandparents probably about 5 years ago, but I still love it just as much so I have kept it on my wall. I’m so sorry I don’t know where it is from!
Orange flower- My lovely friend Libby actually sent me this over alongside a few other prints that she made at university. I loved the orange one the most and it went with the theme so well so I decided to put it up. If you are reading this- thank you so much Libby, I love it!
T sign- Again this was a gift, so I can’t say where it was specifically from but I have seen similar things in shops like homesense and TKMaxx so I’m sure you will find one if you are after something similar.
So I think that is everything to note in the room, and I hope you love it as much as I do. I can’t wait to have a space that I can fully utilise for what I do, and really up my game with Indigo Rosee. Having this space is going to really inspire me to just push harder and work even more for you, and I can’t wait to grow and expand everything even further one day. For now though, if you lose me I will be sat in my cosy office probably packaging up orders or replying to comments…. I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time in there!
