Instagram is by far my favourite social media platform to post on, and I do upload regularly on both of my accounts (@indigorosee and @indigoroseebeauty). However, due to the algorithm, Instagram is becoming more and more of a science and less of an art. Over the past year I have enlisted help from a lot of apps to help me up my Instagram game so I have been able to create a list of the best Instagram apps to help you with your Instagram game. There are now plenty of apps out there, in order to help you post better content and track your followers etc. That in itself is so confusing, so I thought to write a post on the best Instagram apps that I have found, to help you improve your content. I have tried a lot over the years, but I am very happy with the 5 that I use now! It would take something a lot better for me to stop using these.
All of these photos were taken on a little shoot I did in York a few weeks ago in order to try and get one perfect Instagram post!
- Followers plus
I have been using this app for a while, and it is definitely one of the best Instagram apps that I have found to track your followers (and unfollowers), which is so useful when monitoring your progress on Instagram. There are a lot of features I don’t use (like ghost followers- I couldn’t care less) but overall I use this app a lot. I know some people aren’t into tracking their followers and unfollowers, but I know that I have gained a lot more followers since using this and tailoring my content to my followers etc. Its such a useful app and one of the best Instagram apps out there in my opinion. Be cautious though- downloading the app is free but there are a lot of features you need to pay for. I currently pay 99p a month to unlock some features, but there are still features I haven’t paid for. It could get very expensive very quickly!
- Facetune and facetune 2
I don’t know why editing your photos is such a taboo topic, if you edit them then thats cool and if you don’t thats also cool. Personally I am the first to admit that I do edit a proportion of my photos, I don’t edit every single one of them (you would still recognise me if you saw me in the street!) but I am not against lightly editing your photos at all. I know that EVERYONE has heard of these apps, but it is for good reason as I think that facetune is one of the best Instagram apps, if not the best, out there. It gives you the capability of having editing your photos to photoshop standard without having to actually learn anything, as it is super simple and all with a tap of a finger. Facetune 1 is free and amazing (I used it for around a year), and it gives you access to all of the basic features that you require. However, when Facetune 2 entered my life it was a very beautiful day! You do have to pay for the service but, if you have the money spare, IT IS SO WORTH IT. I use it for everything now and it is such an amazing app, with so many different features that make basic editing so effortless.
One of the best Instagram apps that you can download is one that helps you to plan your photos on your grid out, and the one that I use (and love) is UNUM. It is a free app that you can upload your photos too, in order to help you plan out and rearrange your feed. I think this was initially designed for people who like a very specific theme (with very particular colour tones or layout) but I like using it to see if I have enough photos to post, and also whether they just ‘look nice’ together. I definitely do not have a specific theme! Regardless, I do think that this app is useful to loosely plan out your photos and when you are going to upload them.
What a dreamy app this is, and definitely one of the best Instagram apps I have found for the ‘disposable camera’ trend that has blown up at the moment. I first discovered this around a year ago and I have been using it ever since on both my main Instagram feed and also on my stories. I think it adds such a cool vibe to photos! I’m sure that you have heard of disposable camera apps, but if you haven’t, its where you can take a photo on your phone and the app edits them to make it seem like it was taken on a disposable camera. I have tried a lot of these apps but this is definitely the best, as you can actually upload your already taken photos onto it rather than having to take the photos directly in the app. I also love that you could put the same photo through it 5 times and each time it will be a slightly different edit. I love it, and I don’t want to the trend to die anytime soon. The photo below is taken using huji and I love how it turned out- it makes your photos look so cool!
This is an app specifically for stories, but it is one of the best Instagram apps that I have tried, and one of my most used, so I definitely had to include it. Whenever I post a story using this, I always get so many comments asking me which app it is so it is definitely a bit of a hidden gem. This is what I use to make my white background stories (pictured below) sharing my new blog posts. I love how clean and professional it looks, and the best part about the app is that its free! You can purchase expansion packs but I haven’t, and I still get a lot of use out of the app. I love it! Definitely upped my story game when I started using it, and I always think it looks so nice when I see others using it too.
I hope that seeing my opinion on the best Instagram apps out there will give you some recommendations on the best ones to download onto your phone. Let me know if you download any! These are the best instagram apps that I have tried so far, although I am always up for recommendations on more apps to try, so if you have any more please let me know… I always want to try more. As always, thank you for reading this and supporting my blog, I don’t know why but I have fallen back in love with blogging so much recently. Have you read this post on how to grow your Instagram account? It was one of the most popular posts of 2019 so far and I would love if you checked it out!
