I haven’t been at university for the majority of April, so it has meant that have been home for the whole of the month. Its been lovely! I have been able to see my friends, study at home and I haven’t been on a train to Leeds for the whole month… pretty blissful if you ask me! April itself has been a chilled month in preparation for May and June, as I genuinely think the next 8 weeks are going to be some of the busiest of my life so far, but I can’t wait! I have really enjoyed being able to relax more in April though, and its been lovely to be able to relax at home… although I think this post is a lot shorter than usual!
One of the highlights of my year so far happened in April, and that was having the opportunity to go back to my old secondary school to host a presentation. I never in my wildest dreams thought that 3 years after leaving the school, I was going to go back and talk to students about all things Indigo Rosee, and it still blows my mind that I was invited into the school to help students. Plus it was in my favourite teacher’s class, which was equally amazing and really visualised how far I have come both mentally, and in the business. I am genuinely so proud of myself, and I don’t say that enough. I don’t have any photos of the day because I couldn’t take photos in a school environment, which is a shame but obviously safety in schools in crucial.
I miss my friends so much when I am at uni, so it was so nice to be able to have a party in April and see everyone again for the first time in a few months. I genuinely really miss house parties, as they are so much more fun than going out clubbing, but people don’t really have them much as soon as everyone can go out. I think that they are so much more fun, as you can talk to people, and you feel safer because it is only your friends there rather than a huge night out with strangers. It was so much fun to see my best friends, catch up and have a laugh.
Easter weekend was super sunny and spring like, so we decided to have a date afternoon to Bempton, which is a local coastal area near to our hometown. Bempton is famous for housing lots of puffins on the cliffs around this time of year, so we spent the afternoon having a stroll along the cliffs and tying to spot all of the puffins. They were actually a lot harder to spot than we first expected, but it was so nice to spend some time in the sunshine and relax. Im so lucky that I have views like this on my doorstep, and I’m definitely going to make the most of exploring more local places when I am home from uni in the summer.
If you have been following me for a while you will know that I’m not the biggest night out person, but when on bank holiday, a night out is a must. Especially when I’m in my small hometown so know 80% of the people that I am out with! I love seeing my friends from home, and its so much fun being able to chill out, have some (maybe too many) drinks and having a dance with no only my friends, but also people from my old school and sixth form. It was such a fun night out, and ended at 5am crying with laughter over something so pointless… makes me so excited for summer!
Dana is my university bestie, so it was very nice for her to come and visit my town for a few days towards the end of April. She lives in Manchester, so obviously a very built up area, so bringing her to a classic British seaside town was 1.) funny and 2.) definitely what we both needed to relax and take a break from university before the chaos of exams begin next month. We spend a lot of time together but only in a university setting, so I enjoyed showing her my hometown…. Even if it did involve going on a dragon pedal boat in the pouring rain! I hope that she is able to come up in summer, as I love having her around and I will definitely miss her over the summer.
Overall April was such a chilled month and one that I needed, as being at home is always time well spent. It just makes me so excited to be at home in the summer for four months! May is genuinely going to be the busiest month of my life so far, and I don’t say that lightly. There is something happening almost everyday, including my university exams and a new Indigo Rosee Beauty launch, so very crazy! As always thank you so much for reading, and I hope that you had a fab April!
