You have probably seen from my Instagram and my outfit diary blog post from last week, but a few weeks ago now we went to Tenerife. You guys know how much I love writing up my travel posts for me to look back on the trip in the future, so I am so excited to share our Tenerife getaway. It was such a fun week! There was way too much to fit into 1 post, so I have decided to break it down into 3 separate posts with 2 or 3 days in each one. I hope you don’t mind reading them over the next week or so.
We woke up early and set off to the airport straight away, as we live around 2 hours drive away from the airport. I was so ready to start our Tenerife getaway! Our flight was at 2pm so we landed in Tenerife around 7, and then headed to our hotel in a taxi.
We were staying at the Monterey resort for our Tenerife getaway, and I have stayed there before. I loved it and would highly recommend. We made it to the resort and checked in with just enough time to watch the sunset. It was such a perfect end to 13 hours of travelling, and a fab start to the holiday.
We were both so tired so ended the day with room service pasta and an early night. This is really random but I just wanted to mention how good the room service carbonara was. I have carbonara a lot and I think it was the best one I have ever tried… it was so good!
We woke up quite early and got ready for the day… although when you are on holiday that consists of throwing on a bikini and tying my hair up! During the day I didn’t bother with makeup, and only straightened my hair a couple of times when I was there.
We needed to go to the supermarket to get some supplies (as we had a little kitchen in our hotel room), and some snacks for when we were chilling around the pool or balcony during the day. On the walk to the supermarket we stopped off at a little cafe for breakfast, which was lovely (and so cheap!).
We spent the rest of the day around the pool, sunbathing and having a dip in the water. It was so hot when we were there, because its the height of summer, but the breeze from the sea definitely made it bearable to sunbathe. I spent most of my Tenerife getaway either around the pool or on the balcony!
On the evening we got dressed up and ready to go out to the hotel restaurant. I went there last time and I loved it, and I knew I wanted to go back this time. It was actually our anniversary that night, so I was looking forward to a more ‘formal’ meal and some cocktails. It didn’t disappoint! The food was amazing, and we ended the night with cocktails and watching the sunset… pretty perfect to me!
This was our first day on the Tenerife getaway where we actually went out for the day, and we decided to jump in a taxi and head to monkey park. I won’t go on too much about this as I actually have a whole post here about monkey park, but it was such a cute morning and I’m so glad that John got to experience it too. I love feeding the monkeys and the guinea pigs!
On our way back, we popped into siam mall for some food and also a little shop. I love siam mall and would definitely recommend it. I love how it is covered so in the shade, but outside with lots of water features and fountains. Its probably one of the prettiest malls I have ever seen.
Whilst I was at siam mall, we decided to have a stop at Amorino. It looked so amazing that we just couldn’t resist! I had an ice cream, and the fabulous staff there made it so that it looked like a rose… it looked amazing! I had “petals” of chocolate, vanilla and salted caramel, and it was topped with a macaroon. I would definitely recommend having one if you are visiting siam mall on your own Tenerife getaway!
We had already stuffed ourselves with fast food and ice cream at siam mall, so we didn’t go out for an evening meal this night. Instead we opted for some pizza and snacks on the balcony and chilling out for the evening. Bliss!
So that was my first 3 days on my Tenerife getaway, and I hope you enjoyed seeing a bit about what I got up to and some photos too… nothing better than looking back on holiday snaps! Thank you so much for reading this, and I hope you have a read of the next two posts that will be coming over the next week.
