SITC 2019 is the first one that I have attended, and it did not disappoint. I wasn’t sure what to expect at all after the SITC 2019 creator day on the Friday, and I honestly don’t think anything can prepare you for the sensory overload that is SITC honestly. I was so tired afterwards, but it was so worth it because it was such a fab day.
I arrived at the excel centre at around 11 for the opening, and because I already had my SITC 2019 wristband from the day before, I just had my bag checked and walked straight in. I quickly met up with Leanne before we parted ways again. Leanne was actually wearing a hippo mask all day for a ’24 hour’ video, so there was no missing her! I didn’t actually see Leanne much throughout Saturday because I was just so busy, so it was nice to be able to see her in bits throughout the day.
As I was walking down the boulevard at the excel centre, I bumped into Alice and Jess and we ended up spending a lot of the day together. Alice was actually having a nightmare getting into SITC. Don’t get me wrong, the security at SITC was amazing but I think throughout the weekend there was some issues with the guest list. It was rectified pretty quickly and it shouldn’t stop you from going. It was nobody’s fault, but I wanted to be honest. Luckily we got the situation sorted and Alice got onto the guest list eventually… it took an hour though!
Once we got into the excel centre, we met up with Hannah. Hannah followed me on Instagram a few weeks ago, and I sent her over some of my lashes to try. I have followed her youtube channel for years, so it was a pretty surreal day to say the least. She is so lovely, so down to earth and was so welcoming into her group throughout the whole day. She is fab for sure! Hopefully she will be able to feature on my ‘A chat with’ series towards the end of the year!
We ended up meeting and then going on the bumper cars about 30 seconds later! Hannah very kindly treated some of her viewers to the bumper cars and I had a go as well. I can’t say I was a good driver (as you can see in her vlog) but it was so much fun. I would definitely recommend checking out the fairground rides at SITC if you go next year, as the SITC 2019 fairground rides were fun.
After having some food with the girls, and meeting up with Alex and David, we headed back into the convention centre to see Molly’s fashion and beauty panel. I am so proud of everything Molly is doing recently, and she has worked so hard for everything she is doing at the moment. A girl boss for sure! Her panel was amazing, and she did so well. I can’t imagine standing up in front of that many people and talking, but she did it so well.
After the panel I ended up meeting some of you guys, who were waiting for me to finish my panel (which is so kind of you for waiting until Molly was finished if you are reading this!). Throughout the day I met 7 lovely girls, and it was such a surreal feeling, so thank you so much for coming over and introducing yourself. SITC 2019 was the first time I have ever been approached by viewers, and it was so nice to chat with people and have some photos taken of us. If ever you see me, don’t be afraid to come over. I don’t bite and it honestly makes my day!
The rest of the afternoon was spent meeting more of you guys, networking with some people in the industry and overall catching up with people. It was so busy in the convention centre and there were so many people, but the atmosphere was great and it was so nice to meet up with girls on my management who I have never met. I was too busy to attend any meet and greets, but I know that they were a success and a lot of people met their favourite youtubers which is always a good thing.
We left the excel around 6pm, and headed to the Good Hotel, which is such a nice bar near the excel centre. It was happy hour, so a group of us had some (strong!) cocktails, and just had a catch up. We were there a good few hours just talking and relaxing after the day!
By this point we were all starving, so we jumped on the Emirates airline over to the 02. It takes around 15 minutes, and it gives amazing views over London, so I would definitely recommend it (if you aren’t scared of heights of course!). There were 6 of us all together and we all fit in fine, so definitely a fab way to travel if there is a larger group of you heading to the 02.
The cable cars land near the 02, so we decided to head there for some food. There were 6 of us all together so we went for a quick Nando’s and then to All bar one for more cocktails. We all got along so well, and its weird to think that I had never met any of them before the start of SITC 2019. All so lovely, all so welcoming and such fab people that I look up to in the industry whilst I’m trying to pave my own way into it.
I went back to my hotel room about midnight, after a fab night and a fab day. SITC 219 sucked all of the life out of me after such a busy few days but it was an absolute blast and without a doubt my favourite day of 2019 so far. Thank you so much for reading this, and supporting my blog. The love on my blog and Instagram has been crazy recently, and I really notice and appreciate all of the support.
