I did a skincare routine post about nearly 2 years ago now (click here), but I thought to do an updated skincare routine as it has certainly changed since then. My skin is definitely a lot better now (I actually did a whole post about how I cleared up my skin here), and my current skincare routine is more focused towards balancing my combination skin and also helping my scarring from previous breakouts. I am loving my current skincare routine, so I thought to write this post to recommend some of the products and show you when and where I use each of my favourite products.
EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE
This is one of the only products that featured in the old skincare routine and now the Curren skincare routine, and thats because I have been using it for about 4 years. IT IS THE BEST. I can’t express just how many tubes of this I have gotten through over the years but we must be in double figures now. I sometimes use others but always go back to this one, as it gets my makeup off so easily without being too harsh on the skin. I rub this into my skin and remove it with a hot flannel… simple but oh so effective. I would recommend this to anyone no matter what their skin type is.
I don’t use this everyday but I place this into my skincare routine about once a week. After cleansing, I will apply this mask to my T zone (or on any active breakouts) and leave it for around 10-15 minutes before wiping away. This mask is expensive but I love it, and it definitely helps with the oil control on my skin. Plus, any active breakouts are definitely reduced after using this. A staple in my current skincare routine without a doubt.
This only came into my skincare routine in the past 6 months, but when I say it has completely changed my skin I mean it, and I know it will not only be in my current skincare routine, but in my routine for years to come. I have already repurchased it! One of my biggest skin concerns is scarring and this has definitely helped reduce the appearance of my scarring. Plus it feels like such a luxury product, removed the last traces of makeup and smells like lemonade too. I genuinely love it, and would recommend it to anyone that suffers with skin that is susceptible to holding scars for a long time.
This was kindly gifted to me by Pixi a few months back, and has been a staple in my current skincare routine ever since. It has a really sticky texture, but you can really feel it working on the skin, and I always notice when I haven’t used it because my skin looks duller and less fresh the day after. I will definitely be repurchasing it when it runs out, even though it is slightly more on the pricey side. I would recommend this to anyone that thinks their skin is on the duller side, as it really helps to brighten. I love pix, and some more of their products feature later on in this post.
I don’t use this every night as it is quite a thick cream, but every couple of days or when I feel my skin needs it (especially now its autumn/winter time), I will use this. It is a thick cream but with a whipped texture, and it feels very luxurious on the skin. Im not sure whether it is worth the money I paid (as I think I would rather invest in a better serum) but it does feel like a really nice moisturiser and is a good treat purchase. I really like the temple spa cleanser too!
MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE
As you can see by the photos in this blog post, Pixi kindly sent me a huge personalised version of their famous glow tonic as part of their Christmas PR package, and I have been using it in my current skincare routine ever since. I put a pump on a cotton pad and then sweep it over my face on a morning, to refresh my skin. It has a chemical exfoliant in it, which means my skin always finishes looking more glow and dewy than before. I bet everyone has heard of this product before, but I would definitely recommend it to brighten up your skin and really help your complexion.
My current skincare routine on a morning is significantly more simple than the evening! Once I have finished with the pixi glow tonic, I will apply a bit of this moisturiser all over my face. This is actually the newest member of this post, and I received it in a PR box around 2 months ago. I love the gel consistency though and it makes a perfect base for makeup. Again, I’m not sure I would pay this much for a moisturiser myself, but I do really like it and will be using it until it is used up.
Im so happy with my current skincare routine, and I have so many staples which I know I will be using for a long time. If I had to recommend 3 items for you to try though it would be the Liz Earle cleanse and polish, the dark spot toner and the pixi serum. They are all such fabulous products! Thank you so much for reading this and let me know any of your current skincare staples, especially if they help with scarring as that is still a skincare issue that I am trying to tackle. Thank you in advance!
