Happy 3rd birthday IndigoRosee. I can’t quite believe that it was 3 years ago when I sat in a hotel room in Dublin, and finally pressed upload on my first blog post and now I am sitting here on our 3rd birthday. I was so nervous that people at my new sixth form would laugh and make fun of me for it, but I did it anyway because I knew I would love it. Fast forward 3 years and I can honestly say that my life wouldn’t be what it is today without my blog and I can’t imagine it not existing, in the best possible way. 3 years has flown by, but equally I do feel like I have had Indigo Rosee forever.
My blog has brought me some crazy opportunities over the past few years, but when Indigo Rosee was 2 I:
- Met so many more internet friends.
- Attended SITC and had one of the best weekends of the year.
- Was a guest at so many cool events, including Moxy York, the theatre and the opening of Bills Leeds.
- Set up my own business, and hosted the coolest launch party (even if I do say so myself)
- Donated £250 to Bloody Good Period as a result of my Lotus campaign.
Theres only so much praise I can give myself, and like last years post, I always have goals that I want to strive for. Last year I reached 3 of my 5 biggest goals, and I don’t think thats bad at all! I was very happy with what I managed to achieve before my 3rd birthday. I thought to write down 5 blog orientated goals again this year, so I have something to work towards. Do you think I will be able to achieve them all before my 4th birthday?
Grow my Twitter account.
I am not sure whether you have seen this post, where I talk about *the tweet*, but earlier in the year one of my tweets happened to go viral. I barely use twitter, but after a slow week business wise I decided to tweet something about my business, and it happened to been seen by over 400,000 in a week. Pretty crazy! I always thought twitter was more of a dying platform, but clearly not, and it made me realise that I should probably start using twitter more. Since then, I have started to work on this goal but I want to continue this and make twitter one of my most used social medias, when at the moment it is probably the least used.
If you are kind enough to follow and support my twitter- feel free to here.
Reach 5k followers on my Instagram.
Instagram is my most used social media by A MILE. I have had my account for 3 years, and I post almost daily. I really try to grow my account but I have been hovering at around 2.5k for at least a year now, and I really want to make an effort to grow my account. I don’t think ill be able to double my account in a year, but hopefully the use of hashtags, following more likeminded accounts and making an effort to engage more will hopefully increase my following a little.

Increase my DA score to 20.
This is something that I have been really working on over summer, so Im hoping that I can continue to work on it and see results over the next year. DA score is really important when turning your blog into a business, and it is something that brands consider when wanting to work with your blog. Mine is currently on 14, and I really want it to increase to 20 by this time next year. I have actually written a whole blog post on ways to increase your DA score, so I’m hoping that continuing them tips and tricks will help it to increase over the next year.
Receive more paid campaigns.
This links really well with my last goal, and they really go hand in hand. The more your DA score increases, the higher chance there is of receiving paid campaigns on your blog. Don’t get me wrong, I am so grateful to achieve the brand work that I do, but most of the events and brand work are gifted rather than paid. I was listening to a podcast last month all about success, and how the most successful people typically have 5 income streams. This makes a lot of sense but something I haven’t really ever thought about, so being able to receive more paid campaigns on my blog would be so useful for me to receive a bit of extra money for uni, and also get to work with even more amazing brands.
Start using Pinterest.
Pinterest is such a useful tool to help grow blog following and increase traffic, but I have just never really used it. So one of my 3rd birthday goals is to start using Pinterest and learn how to best use it for my blog. I know a lot of bloggers have made posts about this, and I think it will take a lot of research, but I do think I need to start using it and growing my following over there. Do you have any tips for using pinterest?
So there are the 5 goals that I am wanting to achieve before Indigo Rosee turns 4, or at the minimum start working on them all. I honestly can’t believe that I am celebrating my blogs 3rd birthday, when honestly it doesn’t feel like I have been blogging for a year. It has gone so quick! That you so much to every single person who has supported me over the past 3 years, and will continue to support me in the future. I am so proud of the small community that we have built up, and I’m lucky to be apart of it.
Happy 3rd Birthday Indigo Rosee- Here’s to many more.
