October 2019 has one the whole been a really good month. The workload for second year of university has really started, so I feel like I am working a lot and running on a constant treadmill of work (for both uni and some other things that you will be seeing super soon), but I have still had plenty of good moments thrown in there too. Autumn is my favourite season, so I have loved it being a bit colder and being able to get all of my coats and boots out, despite the fact it has seemed to rain for 99% of this month. Christmas is definitely around the corner now, and I can’t wait.
Also as a quick side note, my reflection of October 2019 marks the 4th Hello November post. How crazy is that?
We started October 2019 with a Leeds night out, which was actually my first one since my birthday night out back in June. I loved spending time with my Leeds friends, and it was also super cool because my friend Ruby (who you will have seen if you have followed my blog for a while) has recently moved to Leeds, which means she could come on out night out too. Don’t get me wrong, the actual club night was not my vibe, but it was still nice to get dressed up and see everyone, which I don’t do as often as I should.
The weekend after, I had the afternoon off uni so I headed up to Sheffield. My lovely friend and makeup extraordinaire Sophie lives in Sheffield for uni, so we met up for the first time since JANUARY. It does not feel like that long because we literally talk every single day, but it was so nice to have a few hours together. We had cocktails, lots of side plates and finished off with some desserts. It was fabulous, and I am making it my mission in 2020 to go and see her more because she means a lot to me.
The whole reason I went to Sheffield in the first place was because me and John were having a date night. John loves comedy gigs, and had booked Rhod Gilbert tickets for October 2019, so I decided to go along and make it into a date night. Something to note about me- I like comedy but I have never been to a stand up gig before, and had no idea what to expect. However, I really enjoyed it! I laughed out loud, and would definitely recommend going to see the show if you like his style of comedy. Its sometimes a better night if you go in blind and end up really enjoying it, and it definitely got me out of my usual comfort zone of evenings out.
This was a super busy weekend! The next day, I had booked a photoshoot in with the talent that is Ami from @amifordphoto. If you have been following me for a while, you will know that I had a shoot with her back in 2018, and I absolutely loved the photos, so I decided to book in another shoot. I really struggle with getting photos for social media at this time of year, because I have so much studying to do and the weather is always so miserable, so expect to see a lot of these photos popping up on your feed until Christmas time. I absolutely love them, and Ami never fails to make me feel so beautiful.
Blog events and ‘work’ with my blog has been quite slow recently (you can probably tell with fewer ADS I have done recently), so it was a lovely treat to be invited to The botanist for the launch of their new menu. I won’t go on too much about it because a whole blog review is going live next week, but it was amazing. We got to try some of the new starters, hanging kebabs (which I will definitely be going back for again!) and my personal favourite was the brownie hanging kebab, which featured brownies, toasted marshmallows, candyfloss and waffle pieces. It tasted so good, and of course the botanist is one of the most photogenic places to eat and drink anyway. Definitely one of my highlights of October 2019, and such a nice way to celebrate my blog birthday. Its cool to think that 3 years ago I was just starting my blog, and 3 years later I am being treated my such a lovely brand… I’m so lucky.
And just like that, on the 24th October 2019, Indigo Rosee turned 3. I won’t go on too much about this because I wrote a whole blog post on my blog birthday, but I cannot believe that my blog is already 3. It feels like it has gone so quick but equally feels like my blog has been around forever. I can’t imagine my life without Indigo Rosee in it, and it has allowed me to do what I love, start a business and meet some of my dearest friends. I have so much to thank myself for when I pressed upload to my first blog post in Dublin back in 2016. I’m certain she didn’t think all of this would happen.
This is actually pre-scheduled so I’m sure I will update you in Hello December, but halloween is actually my nan’s birthday. We don’t have any plans apart from a nice meal currently, but I hope that she has the best birthday ever because she deserves it. That woman has been my rock for my whole life, and I’m not quite sure what I would do without her. I will definitely put some photos if we do anything in Hello December!
I don’t actually have any halloween plans this year because I am so busy with work (and something super exciting coming on 2nd November), so this post ends here. October 2019 has been busy as you can see, but so good. I am so excited to reveal some super exciting business things in November, and really get my head down with studying for exams in January. I can’t believe that they are only 8 weeks away now. As always thank you so much for reading this, your support doesn’t go unnoticed and here is to another year of my ‘hello’ series!
