Harriette, or “Harriette Rose” as you may know her, is a lifestyle youtube and social media creator. I first met her at SITC through my good friend Leanne, and we spoke a lot on the Saturday of summer in the city. She is such a lovely person and genuinely so supportive of everyone. I was so happy that she was willing to feature on this series, as I’m sure you will love her too (if you haven’t heard of her already).
As always, my questions will be in Bold and Harriette’s will be in my regular font.
What made you start your ‘Harriette Rose’ youtube? Was it planned or a spontaneous decision one day?
My sister has a very popular YouTube channel called Family Fizz and they have so much fun making videos and fun content for people to watch and they inspired me to start my very own channel.
What has been the most surreal moment to come out of your youtube so far?
The most surreal thing that I still can’t believe is that I have 71k beautiful subscribers that actually follow me and love my content.
Who are your favourite content creators at the moment?
I absolutely love watching Imogen from Imogenation, I love her personality and how she always is so positive and smiley. I also love Elle Darby, I love her shop with me vlogs and her clothing hauls, she has the most amazing fashion style.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone wanting to start a youtube channel like ‘Harriette Rose’?
Just be yourself and have making content you love. There is no right or wrong way to create a YouTube channel but to make it what you want it to be.
We first met at SITC- Did you enjoy it this year? It was my first year and I loved it!
Yes I loved it, this year was my 2nd time going. Although I thought there was not much to do, I love to go because it nice to meet my followers and also to meet new creators.
Instagram is becoming such a big platform at the moment, and I love your Instagram! What is your favourite and least favourite thing about Instagram?
I love Instagram mostly because it’s a nice way to share my everyday life with my followers when I am not posting videos on my YouTube channel.
My least favourite thing about Instagram and I guess about most social media platforms is how it sometimes can give of an image of how we should look, what size we should be or what we should wear etc. And we are all beautiful no matter what our size is or what we look like or what we wear.
What has been your favourite day of 2019 so far?
It has to be the day my niece Karma was born. My sister vlogged the birth of Karma which was so super emotional to watch and such a wonderful experience to watch my little niece coming into this world. I also just found out my sister is having another baby and I am getting my very 1st nephew. I also have another special date that I will remember for the rest of my life but it’s top secret for now… all will be revealed soon.
What can we expect to see from you and your youtube and the world of ‘Harriette Rose’ going into 2020?
Well I just booked one of the things I have wanted to do since I was a little girl, to travel around India. I am heading to India in the new year starting of at Mumbai and basically seeing where India takes me next, I haven’t set any plans in place as yet but I hope to explore and experience real India culture. I am to excited it doesn’t seem real. Its a dream come true, so there will be plenty of India travel vlogs to come. I am also hoping to get my mini coach converted so I can go travelling with my four pugs in 2020 and will be vlogging my travels on the bus. I also have some super exciting vlogs coming to but there all too secret for now.
As I started my blog as a beauty blog, we will have the last question as something beauty orientated. What is your holy grail product?
My holy grail has to be my magnitone electric facial brush. I got one for Xmas last year and i have been using it everyday since in my morning and night skincare routine. Its made my skin feel so much smoother, look brighter and also I found my makeup goes on so much more better and lasts longer as well as getting less break outs. If you don’t own one I definitely recommend one, you won’t regret it.
So that is the post! I hope you love Harriette Rose as much as I do and if you want to go check out her work then click below to be redirected to her social media. Thank you so much to Harriette for featuring!
