I have never written a post like this before but I thought it was a good idea to give another roundup of my year from a fashion perspective. I have really been loving fashion this year (even more than beauty) and I think my style has changed in 2019 more than any other year, so I think its a good time to reflect on my most worn clothing items of 2019. Although if you follow my instagram I presume you know exactly what they are already!
Black and white dress- Misguided.
Im not sure this dress has left my side for the whole year to be honest, and it is genuinely one of my most worn clothing items of 2019, if not the most worn. This is me in a dress, and I always feel really myself in it. Comfortable, black, striped with pretty sleeves and a dress that isn’t too long but isn’t too short. I feel casual but also put together, and it is the most versatile dress in my wardrobe. In winter I paired it with tights and boots, and in summer I just wore it on its own with sandals. One of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe without a doubt! They also do it in white and grey, and I know for a fact I will be picking them up soon.
Leather Skirt- Quiz.
This dress came into my life in around September, so quite late on in the year, but has quickly become one of my most worn clothing items of 2019. If you know me you know I’m a skirt person over jeans anyday of the week, but I have never had a leather skirt before. I bought this from Quiz, and I have been wearing it so much in the autumn and winter months. It really adds something to an outfit that a simple black skirt that I usually wear wouldn’t, and makes a lot of my outfits look more edgy. I love it! Usually I would pair this with black tights for a day out or a nice meal, but I have been known to wear this on its own on a night out and love it too.
Just for a heads up, this is a fake leather skirt and no animals were harmed in the making of it! It is made from a synthetic material.
Polka Dot Dress- New look*.
It is weird to me that this dress has made it onto the list of my most worn items of 2019, but here it is. I bought this before my holidays, and even though I loved it, I seemed to feel self conscious in it. I think it was primarily the length, as I’m usually a ‘just above the knee’ length skirt kinda gal, and this is significantly shorter than that. I wore it on holiday and loved it, so I decided to brave wearing it in the UK. When the crazy heatwave of July hit and it was 34 degrees in Yorkshire (it seems like a million years ago now), this dress made a reappearance. It made me realise that I should wear what I want and what I like, even if does make me feel a little bit self conscious now and again. Since then I have worn it on a handful of nights out, and also with tights and heeled boots for a nice meal. It is now one of my favourite dresses, and whenever I wear it I think about how far my confidence has come in the second half of 2019.
Joggers- New look.
This is a bit of a cheat, as this one is actually 3 items. However in my defence, they are all the same just different colour variations… so you can let me off. I NEVER thought that I would be the kind of person to wear this style of trousers, but I basically live in them now and have done since around Easter. I mentioned this earlier, but I cannot stand jeans, so over the past few years have just avoided trousers in general. When I found these I was so happy, as they are super comfy and can be dressed up or dressed down. I wore these most days in the summer, and they are also ideal for winter nights out where you can’t think of anything worse than braving bare legs in the nightclub queue. I have a black pair, khaki pair and patterned pair, and I love them all. Paired with sandals or trainers, these are such a winner.
Plus, these photos from big weekend needed to reappear as I will go as far to say that they are my favourite outfit photos that I have taken in 2019.
Floral Jumpsuit- Get noticed
We are throwing this back to the summer break, as this was certainly a summer staple but not so much a winter piece right now! However, despite the lack of versatility, this was still one of my most worn clothing items in 2019 because of the sheer amount that I wore it in the summer. I couldn’t take it off! I am obviously a little bit biased because these were designed by my lovely friend Molly, but regardless it is a fantastic jumpsuit. I love jumpsuits for summer, and this quickly became my favourite in my collection. I’m not usually one for a bold print but I love it, and the shape fit me perfectly. I think my favourite thing is the tie, it is really long so you can wrap it round before you tie it, which really brings in your waist and adds lots of shape to your figure. None of my other jumpsuits have this, and I really like that. This is currently packed away because its not very seasonal appropriate, but you better believe you will be seeing it in summer 2020.
So thats my most worn clothing items of 2019, I think there are some pretty great things on this list! Im so glad that I have been able to share more of my fashion and outfit photos online this year, as at the moment I am loving it. What other fashion posts do you want to see going into 2020? I will try and plan as many of your suggestions in as I can.
