I haven’t done an outfit diary post since my holiday in July, so it thought it would be interesting to see what I wore over the festive season in a Christmas edition of the outfit diary. I love writing fashion posts and there is a huge mix of outfits on here (including pyjamas!), so I think there is quite a few to mention, from Christmas Eve comfort to New year’s eve glam. Plus- most of these outfits will probably be in the January sales now, so pick them up whilst you can!
The eagle eyed amongst you might notice that there are only 4 outfits in this Christmas edition of the outfit diary rather than the usual 5. This is because I was going to include my Boxing Day outfit when planning this post, but I actually spent the whole of Boxing Day full of cold in bed. I hope you don’t mind the one outfit missing!
If you have been following me on Instagram you have probably seen most of these outfits already, but I thought to give them a breakdown and let you know where each item was from. I’m starting to post more fashion on Instagram, so make sure to follow me over there if you like posts like these.
I took these photos at the start of December but I actually wore this coat, bag and scarf combination throughout the whole of the Christmas shopping season, so it had to make an appearance in the Christmas edition of the outfit diary. This brown fluffy coat is my favourite in my whole coat collection, and it was from New Look last year but this one* is pretty identical. They will definitely have similar ones in store this year though, because they are still a very popular style of coat. My scarf is just a plain black one from topshop, and my bag is my absolute prized possession from Gucci. I absolutely love this outfit and it gives me such cosy vibes- I know I will be wearing this all through the early winter months of 2020.
I had no idea what to wear for my Christmas night out this year, because nights out at this time of year are so freezing, but I overall really liked this outfit. I bought the dress* from Topshop in their recent sale, and I absolutely love it. It feels really festive, but it also really flattering because I don’t suit a lot of the glittery outfits that come with Christmas time.
I paired this with some heeled boots* from new look, my go to black bag (also from new look) and then throughout the night I wore a shirt dress as a jacket. I actually took no photos in the shirt dress, but I wore it in this post if you want to go take a look… its my go to for nights out now!
I think this has to be my favourite outfit of the Christmas edition of the outfit diary, because I absolutely love this pyjama set! Most years me and my nan have had matching pyjamas, but my grandad has never been able to join in… until this year. Next have brought out Christmas pyjamas for the whole family, from children’s sizes right up to men’s sizes, so the whole family can have matching pyjamas. So of course we had to get involved!
I couldn’t link the pyjamas though- because they are already out of stock, as its after Christmas now!
Christmas Eve was also the first time I have ever posted a no makeup photo on my Instagram, and although it doesn’t seem like a big deal to many, I was so proud that I had the confidence to post a no makeup photo… as it is definitely something I wouldn’t have done this time last year! The post was so well received and everyone was so lovely in the comments, so if that was you then thank you so much.
New Years Eve
I am in love with this dress, and it is quite far out of my comfort zone, so I am impressed that I actually like it. Usually I wear quite block colours, so I liked opting for a bolder pattern, and I think the risk paid off. I got so many compliments on this dress and I felt so confident all night. The dress is from Quiz, and I paired it with some black tights and the same ankle boots from earlier as we were going for a meal. Hopefully in 2020 I will push further out of my comfort zone and wear more things that I wouldn’t normally wear, but actually love.
I have loved my outfits over this season, although I can assure you that most days over the Christmas period I was wearing comfy clothes and pyjamas! Thank you for reading the Christmas edition of the outfit diary even though it is a little bit outdated now, and I would love to know which outfit was your favourite.
