Noo Stenning (OnlineNoo as you may know her) is a student youtuber based in Bath. I find her content super relatable because I am also a student, and her videos are so easy to watch. I first discovered her content about 18 months ago, we then briefly met at SITC and I have really enjoyed watching her journey through university, especially whilst I have related to her life as well. Plus she is super nice, and always SO SUPPORTIVE of my business on twitter. I would definitely recommend giving her a watch whether you are a student or not!
What made you start OnlineNoo? Was it planned or a spontaneous decision one day?
I started my channel actually a really long time ago in secondary school, I honestly just liked talking (probably too much) and wanted to talk about my favourite brand at the time, Lush! It was fairly spontaneous I guess, I’d watched some Lush videos on Youtube and then one day decided to haul what I’d just bought
What is your favourite social media platform to post on?
YouTube for sure! It’s where my community feels most like a community and a video speaks even more than 1,000 words haha
Do you have any advice for someone wanting to start a youtube or Instagram account?
Definitely do something you’re interested in, it’ll make you want to post consistently and people will enjoy watching/viewing so much more! Be patient as well, we could all remember that once in a while.
I know you are at university. Which course do you do, do you enjoy it and how did you know it was the course/university for you?
I’m doing Biochemistry which I find really really interesting apart from the odd genetics module haha. I don’t see myself working in a lab or anything int he future but I love having the knowledge (bit of a nerd) and I like surprising people when they assume I’m doing something creative! I knew I definitely wanted to come to Bath as soon as I first visited, it was just the perfect vibe for me on campus, I really saw myself having a good time here
Have you enjoyed uni?
I’ve absolutely loved uni, I can’t describe how brilliant the whole experience has been for me. Obviously it hasn’t been without its downs as well as it’s ups but I probably wouldn’t change anything
You study alongside doing youtube- is this difficult? How do you manage your time effectively?
Managing my time between all my hobbies is really difficult but I try my best to use my free time efficiently rather than just sitting around, I always feel much better mentally when I’m productive too. I keep everything pretty planned to the hour or so if possible but I also plan a fair amount of social things or I go a bit stir crazy. As long as you don’t waste TOO much time doing nothing fun or productive, its totally possible to (pretty much) do it all!
Shoutout some of your favourite creators right now- who are you loving?
Honestly, I’ve been consistently watching the Norris Nuts recently- they’re a super cute family channel who do a lot of challenges but the kids have such good personalities and I just enjoy watching them as a pick me up
I actually tend to watch one for videos more than specific creators now days but I always like keeping up with my friend’s vlogs like Molly (Beauty Spectrum).
What are you most looking forward to in 2020?
Making things happen for after uni, working on fab things with my new management and making my final semester full of great stuff
What can we expect from OnlineNoo in 2020?
More day in the life videos! I love filming them and people love watching them it seems so I’m really hoping to make my channel more about me and my life in 2020
As I started off as a beauty blog, we always have the last question as something beauty related. What is your holy grail product?
Oh wow one holy grail, I would have to say the Sunday Riley “Good Genes”- it’s one of the only products I’m still amazed at every time I use it. If I had to pick something I can actually afford to repurchase regularly (oops) then Lush’s “American Cream” shower gel, it’s such a nostalgic scent for me and a highly recommended product from me.
