I have seen a couple of other bloggers that I love writing down their ‘post lockdown bucket list’, and I think it is such a nice idea. They might be super simple things, but it shows what you have missed and also what I am so excited to do when times go back to normal. I thought of 10 lighthearted things I want to do, after seeing my family and friends of course!
As a bit of a disclaimer- I am in such a fortunate position right now as my friends and family are safe, and I am financially stable. This list is meant to be something lighthearted and a way of looking to the future, but I appreciate there are much bigger problems in the world than a meal out and manicure right now.
In no particular order, here are 10 insignificant things on my post lockdown bucket list:
Book a UK city break with John. I’ve come to the conclusion that the European city break we had booked John’s 21st isn’t going ahead, so I would really like to book a UK city break for when travel is allowed, and safe to do so. I’m thinking Edinburgh!
Go get my nails done. I haven’t had my nails done in so long (I had my acrylics taken off) and I do miss having an hour to treat myself and get my nails all pretty. Although I think when we are allowed to do things like that again, the queue will be out of the door!
Eat out with my family! Me and my family love eating out, and I definitely miss eating out regularly whilst I’m at home. I cannot wait to dress up and go for a really nice meal with all of the family, and I think a lot of people will have that on their post lockdown bucket list too!
Book a festival. Parklife was understandably cancelled this year, but it has made me really want to book one (or maybe more) festivals next summer. Lets hope big events will be allowed to go ahead by 2021! I loved big weekendin 2019, so hopefully I can go there too.
Night out! Who thought the grandma in me would miss nights out? Im so excited for the weekend where the social settings (such as pubs and clubs) open again, and the whole country can celebrate with their friends again. Its going to be a crazy thing to live through, and I cannot wait.
Plan a big trip for summer 2021 (hopefully!) I don’t know whether its just because I’m spending an unnatural amount of time in my house, but this period of time is definitely making me value travelling a whole lot more. I have been researching some trips that I would like to take at some point, and hopefully (if international travel restrictions are lifted) I would like to take a bigger trip in 2021.
WITC When I am writing this, SITC is still supposedly going ahead, but lets be real here… I highly doubt that will be the case. Even if by some miracle it does go ahead, I know that I will not be attending as I wouldn’t want to travel so far under the current circumstances. However, the team have announced the dates for WITC, and although I have never been to WITC before, I am definitely going to try and go this year. I’ve said it before but SITC was one of the best weekends ever, and I’m so excited to hopefully do it all again this year, but just slightly belated than originally planed.
Go to a coffee shop and have a huge brunch. Back to food again! Theres nothing I love more than going for brunch with my friends, and I’m very excited to try out some new brunch cafes when this is over. Give me all of the pancakes, coffees and girly chats over breakfast!
Launch some new lashes. I was supposed to be launching some new lashes on 13th April, but that obviously didn’t go ahead. However, everything is all ready and waiting to go, and I’m so excited to launch them when the time is right.
Have the biggest mcdonalds! This has to be the final point doesn’t it! Fancy meals and nights out aside, the most insignificant thing I have seemed to crave the most out of everything this lockdown has to be mcdonalds. When it opens again I am going to have the biggest order filled with burgers, nuggets and a big ice cold sprite. It really is the little things isn’t it?
What this period in time has taught me is to be very grateful of all of these ‘insignificant’ things, and not take them for granted as much as I know I have done in the past!
What is the first insignificant thing that you want to do when this is over? What is on your post lockdown bucket list?
