I thought this would be a good beauty post to write, because if something is in my everyday makeup bag then it must be a good! I love beauty and I own too much makeup (trust me it doesn’t all fit in one bag!), but I definitely have my favourites that I gravitate towards everyday. I have decided to choose my favourite product of each makeup item that is my ‘holy grail’, and most of these products I have got through at least 2 of… I just keep repurchasing them! This is going to be such a long post, so apologies in advance!
I actually filmed a whole youtube video about my everyday makeup look, and the technique I use. That goes hand in hand with this blog post so if you haven’t already seen it then I would definitely recommend checking it out as well as this post.
FOUNDATION– The Maybelline Superstay foundation has been a staple in my everyday makeup bag for a long time now, and I don’t think anything can beat it. Its only £10 but it is better than most high-end foundations that I have tried, and will always be in my makeup bag now. It is a very full coverage but doesn’t budge throughout the day, and always photographs so well on my skin. I would definitely recommend if you like a full coverage foundation!
CONCEALER– I don’t often use concealer because I just blend out my foundation with a small brush, however I love the Kiko Green concealer for when my skin breaks out. I put this on my breakout areas and blend it out before adding foundation, and it really reduces the appearance of redness in my skin. I really like this particular concealer because it doesn’t leave a green tint when I apply my foundation on the top, like some I have tried do.
BRONZER– Another Kiko product featuring in my everyday makeup bag! I would definitely recommend Kiko as a brand though, it is such a cheap price point but everything I have tried has been such a high quality. I talked about this bronzer in my best of beauty 2019 blog post, so I won’t go into too much detail, however it applies so nice and definitely worth the money. My favourite thing about it has to be the colour though, because it isn’t too orange but isn’t too grey, instead being nice for bronzing without making my face look a weird colour, like some of my other bronzers do.
POWDER– This maybelline superstar powder is a recent addition to my everyday makeup bag, but I think I will keep repurchasing it from now on. I bought it after how much I love the foundation, and although I don’t like it as much as the foundation, it does help to control my oil levels throughout the day. I really want to try a loose powder next though!
HIGHLIGHT– I have so many highlighter faves that it would be impossible to choose just one, so I thought to share quite an underrated highlight that I haven’t heard many people talk about. I started using cookie at the start of the year and I love it so much, and I’m sure if you love a blinding highlight you will too. I love that this is not glittery and rather looks very glowy on the skin, but still bright. Definitely try it if you haven’t already!
BLUSH– I have only recently got into wearing blush again, so I certainly don’t have a holy grail right now and have instead been experimenting with any that I have in my collection. Please let me know what your faves are, I would love to know and add some new ones to my collection!
EYEBROWS– Benefit steal the show when it comes to eyebrows for me, and I now own so many benefit brow products. However my favourite one I have tried has to be the goof proof brow pencil, and it is now a staple in my everyday makeup bag. It is super easy to use and you can create both a daytime and a bolder eye look with the same pencil.
EYESHADOW– Eyeshadow is my makeup weakness and I own way too many eyeshadow palettes for one person! However I have narrowed it down to two staple favourites, and I think if I only had these two palettes I would still have enough shadows to create some super cool looks.
My most staple eyeshadow palette is the Violet Voss Holy Grail palette*, and it is always in my everyday makeup bag since I bought it last year. It is such a good palette for traveling as it is such a thin palette to slip into your makeup bag, but has all of the neutral colours that you could possibly need to get started, or for a trip away. I am mainly a neutral eyeshadow girl, and this palette has everything I need to only have to take this one… and that is why its my favourite! Click to see my best of beauty 2019 for a more in depth review of this palette.
My other favourite palette and one I have been getting a lot of use out of recently has to be the conspiracy palette, which was a collaboration between Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson. Although I’m sure you have all heard of it! There is only a few shades that I haven’t used (such as food videos) however overall I love the palette, and Jeffree Star cosmetics formula is the best I have tried. The only problem is the packaging makes it almost impossible to travel with, so I tend to leave it at home when I go away.
MASCARA– I used to just use whichever mascara I had at the moment, until I discovered this one, and I know wouldn’t use anything else. Benefit Bad Gal bang is without a doubt the best mascara I have ever tried. Plus whenever I recommend it to my friends, they have all ended up loving it too. I would definitely suggest trying it, as I’m sure you won’t go back to your previous favourite.
LASHES AND GLUE– How could I write this post and not include my own lashes?? My lashes are always in my everyday makeup bag, even though I don’t actually wear lashes everyday (who has time for that?). I think my personal favourite lashes have to be sugar or vonnie, depending on what my eye makeup is looking like.
I often get questions about my favourite lash glue, and it has to be the Duo lash glue in Dark*. It doesn’t should up as white on your lash line, and can easily stick for 12 hours. The best!
LIP LINER- The rimmel lip liner is cappuccino has to be my favourite lip liner, because I really enjoy a darker lip liner with a lighter nude lip in the centre. This lip liner is so cheap but is so good, and definitely worth purchasing if you wanted to try a darker lip liner, and the 90s lip look.
LIPSTICK– My ultimate favourite lip liner is the Jeffree Star lipstick in the shade mannequin*, however at the moment it has actually ran out, and I really need to order a new one. I miss it so much! The lipsticks that I actually wear the most are maybelline driver, ABH stripped* or the revolution lip glosses. Can you tell I like a nude lip?
I love my everyday makeup bag at the moment, and everything that features, however I am always adjusting it by taking products out and adding new products to my daily routine. I use these products most days, and I hope that my recommendations have helped if you are on the lookout for some new products in your collection. As always, thank you for reading this blog post and still supporting my beauty posts nearly 4 years after my first makeup blog post was posted.
