June 2020 has overall been a really good month! Lockdown restrictions have been eased more and more, I am able to go out and see people more, and I think some normality has been resumed. I have enjoyed spending some more time with my friends, and I have spent a few evenings at the beach because we can leave the house to socialise in public places now.
That being said, we are definitely not back to normal! Most days are being spent at home in the sunshine, and I am occupying myself by pouring so much time and energy into my shop. It is definitely bringing some normality and fun to my days! Therefore, I apologise if this post is very business heavy… it is purely because I haven’t done much else.
The first amazing thing that happened this month is that my Lotus lash sold out. I relaunched 100 pairs back in late January, and they sold out at the start of June 2020. My customers love lotus, plus it meant that £250 could be donated to Bloody Good Period. It makes me so happy to think that something I have done has made such a positive impact, and it is definitely my proudest business achievement to date. So much so, I am definitely considering bringing it back early next year.
Im sure you will have seen on Instagram, but the majority of my month has been spent working on my restock. It is the biggest restock that I have ever had for IRB, and it was amazing seeing all of the lashes in my office. There were over 1000 pairs! We also had a printing issue with the lash books, which was a new hurdle for me to get over when it came to running my business, but thankfully it is sorted now.
Moving away from my business for a few minutes, I found out my university marks for second year in June 2020. I GOT A FIRST! Second year has been a challenging one, with navigating online learning, but I am so so proud that I managed to get a first in the work that I have done. I am definitely nervous about third year, but having 50% of my degree at a first has definitely put my mind at rest a lot.
Back to the business. I told you that this month has been very business heavy! I have also launched the ‘Apollo’ lash towards the end of the month, to celebrate my birthday. I won’t go on about it too much as I wrote a whole blog post to document the launch, but it was actually the best launch that I have ever done. Over 1/4 of the Apollo stock sold in the first few hours… and I thought I had over ordered! If you are reading this and you had purchased a pair, thank you so so much.
So having a launch for my birthday, means that it was also my birthday! On 26th June, I turned 20 years old, and I am now IN MY TWENTIES. My birthday was a super quiet day, but I spent the day sat in the garden in the sunshine. I was with my family the whole day, my best friend came in the afternoon, and my boyfriend came with a Chinese takeaway in the evening. A pretty god day if you ask me!
And that was my June 2020! Overall it has been a lovely month, where I have been working hard on my shop but also enjoying the sunshine. I have no plans for July (what a surprise), but I hope that the sunny weather continues, and I can spend more time socialising.
